| - Foibé (řecky Φοίβη, latinsky Phœbe) byla prvokřesťanská jáhenka v Kenchrejích v 1. století. Uvádí se jako doručitelka listu Římanům. Svatý Apoštol Pavel se o ní zmiňuje v listě Římanům na začátku 16. kapitoly jako o diakonce (diakonon) a pomocnici mnohých (prostatis). Jedná se o jediné místo v Novém zákoně, kde je takto označena žena. Theodoretos z Kyrrhu o Foibé napsal, že přijala pod svou střechou apoštola Pavla a že je "oslavována na zemi i na moři." A notable woman in the church of Cenchreae, she was trusted by Paul to deliver his letter to the Romans. Paul refers to her both as a "servant" or "deacon" (Greek diakonos) and as a helper or patron of many (Greek prostatis). This is the only place in the New Testament where a woman is specifically referred to with these two distinctions. Paul introduces Phoebe as his emissary to the church in Rome and, because they are not acquainted with her, Paul provides them with her credentials. (en)

- Phœbé ou Phébé de Cenchrée (Ier siècle) était une diaconesse de la communauté chrétienne de Cenchrées, le port oriental de Corinthe. Elle fut recommandée aux chrétiens de Rome par saint Paul, dans ses salutations personnelles (Rm 16:1) qui concluent sa lettre aux Romains. Paul l’appréciait pour l'aide qu'elle lui apporta, ainsi qu'à beaucoup d’autres. Sans doute personne de haut rang, il est probable que Phoebé intervint à plusieurs reprises en faveur des chrétiens. Va ser una dona notable en l'església de Cèncrees, a qui Pau va encarregar la transmissió de la seva carta als Romans. En escriure a l'església que segurament es reuní a casa seva, Pau es refereix a ella en dues ocasions com a diaca i com ajudant o patrona de molts. És l'únic lloc del Nou Testament on una dona rep específicament aquestes dues distincions. Pau presenta a Febe com el seu emissari a l'església de Roma, i, com que no la coneixien, Pau els proporciona les seves credencials. (ca)
