Owain Owain (11 December 1929 – 19 December 1993) was a Welsh novelist, short-story writer and poet. He also founded Tafod y Ddraig (The Dragon's Tongue), which became the Welsh Language Society's main voice from its birth in the 1960s to the present day. His science fiction book entitled Y Dydd Olaf ("The Last Day") was described by the Welsh literary critic Pennar Davies in the book's preface: "Nothing like this book has been seen before either in our language or in any other language. We should rejoice that such brilliance exists in Welsh writing."

Bhunaigh sé an iris Tafod y Ddraig a bhí mar phríomh-ghuth ag Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg (Cumainn na Breatnaise) óna mbreith sna 1960í go dtí an lá atá inniu ann agus bhí sé ina chéad eagarthóir uirthi. Ba pholaiteoir freisin é Owain a shainmhínigh an teanga agus an troid ar son na teangan i gcomhthéacs domhanda. Chruthaigh sé an choincheap go raibh 'maoin na héagsúlachta' (Cyfoeth yr Amrywiaeth) sa Bhreatnais agus scríobh sé go forleathan faoi ilghnéitheachta na teangan agus agus in aghaidh an 'mhúnla liath' (y llwydni llwyd) agus na 'Íomhá Móire' (Ddelwedd Fawr).
