It is a loan translation of the German Neuhochdeutsch (Nhd). The most important characteristic of the period is the development of a standard written German, followed by the standardisation of the spoken language. - El nuevo alto alemán (en alemán, neuhochdeutsche Sprache) es el término empleado para el período más reciente de la historia del idioma alemán, cuyos comienzos se pueden notar a partir de mediados del siglo XVII. La característica más importante de este período es el desarrollo de una lengua escrita estandarizada, seguida por la estandarización del idioma hablado. Como resultado de este proceso se ha dado el idioma alemán estándar, que forma la actual y última variante del nuevo alto alemán, por lo que recibe como autoglotónimo también el calificativo de Hochdeutsch («alto alemán») como sinónimo del alemán estándar. En lingüística se refiere al nuevo alto alemán con las siglas NHG (del inglés, New High German) o NHD (del alemán, Neuhochdeutsch). (es)
- Haut allemand moderne est le terme utilisé pour la période la plus récente de l'histoire de la langue allemande. C'est une traduction de l'allemand Neuhochdeutsch. Ce terme peut-être utilisé pour désigner l'allemand standard ou les dialectes du haut allemand.Le terme fut créé à l'origine par Jacob Grimm pour la période allant de 1500 jusque aujourd'hui, et qui suit celle du moyen haut allemand (Mittelhochdeutsch). Cependant, Wilhelm Scherer redéfinit cette période comme débutant en 1650, introduisant un nouveau terme : Frühneuhochdeutsch ( (en)) pour la période 1350-1650, et c'est la périodisation la plus adoptée de l'allemand.
