Mark A. Horowitz is the Yahoo! Founders Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University and holds a joint appointment in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department. He is a co-founder of Rambus Inc., now a technology licensing company. Horowitz is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, and served on the Computer Science and Telecommunications Advisory Board of the National Academy of Sciences. In 2011, he received the University Research Award from the Semiconductor Industry Association.
