The museum is owned by the Revival of Kurd’s Heritage Organisation (Kurdish: ڕێکخراوی بوژاندنەوەی کەلەپوری کورد) but administratively, the museum is affiliated with the Sulaymaniyah Directorate of Antiquities and the Sulaymaniyah Museum.
