Khakrez, also written Khakriz and Khak Reiz, is a village and the district center of Khakrez District, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. It is located at the base of a mountain range in the western part of the district at 31°59′08″N 65°28′22″E / 31.9856°N 65.4728°E and 1,516 m altitude. It (or an adjacent village) is also known as Darvishan. Khakrez is the location of the district center building and the or , one of the oldest historical Islamic sites in Afghanistan.

En 2011, un programme de réhabilitation mené par l'armée et la police locale afghanes avec l'aide de l'ONG internationale (en) a permis de relancer l'activité : le sanctuaire attire 20 000 pèlerins par an et le bazar compte une vingtaine de boutiques. L'influence des talibans a diminué même s'ils continuent de mener des actions dans le secteur. En novembre 2017, une attaque des talibans contre plusieurs postes des forces de sécurité cause la mort de 15 soldats et policiers. (fr)
