| - Die Geschichte Ghanas ist die Geschichte des modernen Staates Ghana, der vorangegangenen europäischen Kolonisation dieses Gebietes sowie die vorkoloniale Geschichte der Völker und Reiche auf dem Gebiet des heutigen Staates. Das ursprüngliche Königreich Ghana lag wesentlich weiter nördlich als das heutige Ghana im Gebiet der Sahelzone. Obwohl dieses Reich der Namensgeber des modernen Staates Ghana ist, hat das heutige Ghana keine historischen Bezüge zu ihm. Mit dem Namen „Ghana“ wollten die Staatsgründer an die Größe dieses mächtigen schwarzafrikanischen Reiches anknüpfen. (de)

- Территория современной Ганы была населена уже в эпоху мезолита. До прихода европейцев на территории нынешней Ганы в XIII—XVII вв. существовали древние города-государства, самыми крупными из которых были Бего (Бегхо), Боно-Мансу, Ла и Шаи. В этих государственных образованиях развивалось земледелие, животноводство и ремёсла, активно велась добыча золота и торговля. (ru)
