HMS Legion was an L-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She entered service during the Second World War, and had a short but eventful career, serving in Home waters and the Mediterranean. She was sunk in an air attack on Malta in 1942. The ship had been adopted by the British civil community of the Municipal Borough of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in November 1941.

(uk) HMS Legion (G74) war einer der acht am 31. März 1938 bestellten britischen Zerstörer der neu entwickelten L-Klasse der Royal Navy. Der als erstes Schiff der L-Klasse fertiggestellte Zerstörer wurde im Dezember 1940 von der Bauwerft Hawthorn, Leslie & Co. abgeliefert. Allerdings erhielt die Legion nicht die für die Klasse neuentwickelten Doppellafetten mit neuen 120-mm-Mk.XI-Geschützen. Um schnell Zerstörer mit einer verbesserten Luftabwehrfähigkeit zu erhalten, wurden 1940 die Legion und drei weitere Schiffe der Klasse mit vier Doppellafetten der bewährten 102-mm-L/45-Mk.XVI-Geschütze fertiggestellt.
