- George Brettingham Sowerby II (* 25. März 1812 in Lambeth; † 26. Juli 1884 in Wood Green) war ein britischer Naturforscher (Malakologe) und Illustrator. Sowerby stammte aus einer Familie von Naturforschern, die sich besonders mit illustrierten Werken über Mollusken befassten und setzte das Werk seines Großvaters James Sowerby und seines Vaters George Brettingham Sowerby I fort, wie auch sein eigener Sohn George Brettingham Sowerby III (1843–1921). Um sich von seinem Vater zu unterscheiden setzte er ein F. L. S. hinter seinen Namen (als Fellow der Linnean Society). (de)
- George Brettingham Sowerby II (1812 – 26 July 1884) was a British naturalist, illustrator, and conchologist. Together with his father, George Brettingham Sowerby I, he published the Thesaurus Conchyliorum and other illustrated works on molluscs. He was an elected a Fellow of the Linnean Society on 7 May 1844. He was the father of George Brettingham Sowerby III, also a malacologist. He died on 26 July 1884 and is buried on the west side of Highgate Cemetery with his father George Brettingham Sowerby I and sister Charlotte Caroline Sowerby. (en)
