| - Dniester Hills (Romanian: Dealurile Nistrului), also known as Northern Moldavian Plateau (Romanian: Podişul Moldovei de Nord) is a geographic area that comprises most of the northern Moldova, and parts of the Chernivtsi Oblast of Ukraine. Dniester Hills are the N and NE component of the Moldavian Plateau. Dniester Hills run and ridge along the Dniester River, from the river, an affluent of the Prut river, and the to the point where Dniester receives its tributary Răut. The river Dniester in turn bounds Dniester Hills to the N and E, and separates them from the Podolian Plateau. Dniester Hills are separated from the rest of the Moldavian Plateau (Suceava Plateau, Jijia Plain, Bălți steppe, Central Moldavian Plateau) by the passages formed in the valley of the Răut River and its tributaries, and partly by those of the Prut River and its tributaries. Dniester Hills have elevations of cca. 300 m. They are composed of:
* (Romanian: Podişul Hotin) in the NW edge/alongation, containing the , the , as well as the (Romanian: Valea Şipeniţului)
* , or Dniester Hillock (Romanian: Colinele Nistrului), also called Dniester-Răut Ridge or "the Ridge between the Dniester and the Răut", (Romanian: Colinele dintre Nistru si Răut), 2,480 km2, in the SE edge/alongation
* , or Northern Bessarabian Plateau (Romanian: Podişul Moldovei de nord, Platoul Basarabiei de Nord), the central part of the Dniester Hills, 4,630 km2. Due to the phenomenon of ridges along the right side bank of the river Dniester, the waters falling directly in the Dniester are only several small creeks. The NW part of the Dniester Hills, is characterized by numerous creeks sourcing only one or two hills away from the Dniester but falling into the river Prut, a tributary of Danube. The SE part of the Dniester Hills is characterized by creeks falling into the river Răut, which itself afterwards falls into the Dniester. (en)

- Дністровські пагорби (рум. Dealurile Nistrului), також відомі як Північно-молдовське плато (рум. Дністровські пагорби є північною та північно-східною складовою частиною Молдовської височини. Дністровські пагорби простягаються вздовж Дністра від річечки, яку місцеві українці звикли називати Потік, а румунські джерела XV ст. позначали назвою Колачин як ліву притоку Прута, а також від лісу Плонини до місця, де у Дністер упадає її притока Реут. Дністер відокремлює їх від Подільської височини. Дністровські пагорби відокремлені від решти Молдовської височини (Сучавське плато, Жижійська рівнина, Бєльцький степ, Центральномолдовське плато) проходами, утвореними в долині Реута і його приток та частково Прута і його приток. Дністровські пагорби заввишки приблизно 300 м. Вони складаються з:
* Хотинського плато (рум. Podişul Hotin) на північному заході;
* Дністровського кряжу, або Дністровського хребта (рум. Colinele Nistrului), званого також Дністровсько-Реутським хребтом або «хребтом між Дністром і Реутом» (рум. Colinele dintre Nistru si Răut) на південному сході, протяжністю 2480 км2;
* Північномолдовських пагорбів, або Північно-Бессарабського плато (рум. Platoul Basarabiei de Nord), центральної частини Дністровських пагорбів 4630 км2. У зв’язку з явищем кряжів уздовж правого берега Дністра, водоймами, що впадають прямо у Дністер, є лише кілька дрібних струмків. Північно-західна частина Дністровських пагорбів характеризується численними ручаями, які витікають лише за один-два пагорби від Дністра, але впадають у річку Прут — притоку Дунаю. Південно-східна частина Дністровських пагорбів характеризується струмками, що втікають у річку Реут, яка сама після цього впадає у Дністер. (uk)
