David Henry Solomon AC FRS FAA FTSE (born 19 November 1929 in Adelaide, South Australia) is an Australian polymer chemist. He is best known for his work in developing Living Radical Polymerization techniques, and polymer banknotes.

November 1929 in Adelaide) ist ein australischer Chemiker (Makromolekulare Chemie). Solomon studierte Chemie am mit dem Abschluss 1950 (Associate Diploma) und an der New South Wales University of Technology mit dem Bachelor-Abschluss 1952 und dem Master-Abschluss 1955. Er wurde dort 1959 promoviert (Studies in the Chemistry of Carbony Compounds) und 1968 erhielt er zusätzlich einen D.Sc. der University of New South Wales (Studies in the chemistry of coating compounds). Noch während des Studiums arbeitete er beim Farbenhersteller Dulux Australia (damals Balm Paints). Dort leitete er 1955 bis 1963 die Forschung für neue Anstreichfarben. Dabei wurde er auch 1959/60 zu ICI in Slough in England abgesandt. Ab 1963 ging er in die Polymerforschung (de)
