| - The Convictorio Carolino was a school which operated in Santiago in colonial Chile. Some of the most important figures in the Chilean War of Independence were educated there. The Convictorio was very strict, and boarders were subject to rigid rules of conduct. Subjects taught there included Latin, theology, philosophy, social conduct, and Spanish language fundamentals. - El Convictorio Carolino fue un colegio chileno que funcionó durante la Colonia, en la ciudad de Santiago de Chile. En él se educaban los hijos de las personalidades más importantes del reino, muchos de los cuales destacarían más tarde en la Independencia de Chile. La formación del Convictorio era muy rígida, permaneciendo los alumnos internos y sujetos a rígidas normas de conducta. Se enseñaba el Latín, la Teología, Filosofía, conductas sociales, pero también las primeras letras del idioma español. La existencia del Colegio fue fundamental para el desarrollo de la educación en la época, siendo una de las pocas instituciones educativas en funcionamiento.
