The winners in each of these categories are then presented to a new panel consisting of local celebrities, politicians, and brewers, who, again blind tasting, selects an overall champion, silver medalist, and bronze medalist. - Il Champion Beer of Wales è un premio per la birra in Galles, presentata dalla Campaign for Real Ale (Campagna per la vera birra inglese detta anche CAMRA) e dalla Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival, tenuto a Cardiff. Il premio viene selezionato da un sistema multi-fila. In primo luogo, diversi componenti del CAMRA nominano le birre che sono in regola, con una produzione non stagionale per almeno un anno, dalle fabbriche di birra di lingua gallese in una serie di categorie. Le birre nominate in ogni categoria poi vengono presentate all'équipe di gustatori, che sono sei persone per ogni stile, che assaggia ogni birra in uno stile particolare, praticamente un assaggio cieco. Queste équipe di gustatori sono selezionate dal CAMRA, i membri ed altri individui, compreso i membri dell'industria della birra (sebbene i rappresentanti delle fabbriche di birra delle birre nominate vengono esclusi).
