| - القيمة س (بالإنجليزية: C-value) هي كمية الدنا بالبيكوغرام الموجودة داخل نواة وحيد الصيغة الصبغية (جاميت) أو نصف الكمية في خلية جسدية ثنائية الصيغة الصبغية لكائن حقيقي النوى. في بعض الأحيان (خاصة بين الكائنات ثنائية الصيغة الصبغية)، يُستخدم مصطلح القيمة س وحجم الجينوم بشكل مترادف، لكن في عديدات الصيغة الصبغية قد تعبر القيمة س عن جينومين أو أكثر في نفس النواة. اقترح غريلهبير وآخرون اصطلاحات جديدة واختصارات لها، لكن هذه المصطلحات إضافات معقدة لحد ما ولم تُستخدم بعد من قبل الكُتّاب. - El valor C (C-value en anglès) és la quantitat d'ADN, en picograms, continguda en un nucli haploide (per exemple, un gàmeta) d'una espècie. Es pot entendre també com la meitat de la quantitat d'ADN present al nucli d'una cèl·lula somàtica diploide de la mateixa espècie. En espècies diploides, per tant, els termes valor C i mida genòmica poden usar-se indistintament. In some cases (notably among diploid organisms), the terms C-value and genome size are used interchangeably; however, in polyploids the C-value may represent two or more genomes contained within the same nucleus. Greilhuber et al. have suggested some new layers of terminology and associated abbreviations to clarify this issue, but these somewhat complex additions are yet to be used by other authors. (en)

- Der C-Wert ist eine Basiseinheit in der Genetik. Er gibt als Messgröße an, wie viel Desoxyribonukleinsäure (DNA) ein einfaches, in der Fachsprache haploides, Genom eines Lebewesens enthält; dieser Wert wird jeweils mit 1 C bezeichnet. Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, die entsprechende DNA-Menge darzustellen:
* als Masse der im haploiden Genom enthaltenen DNA, angegeben in Pikogramm (pg);

De C-waarde is de helft van de hoeveelheid DNA die een diploïde lichaamscel bevat. In veel gevallen, met name bij diploïde organismen, is de C-waarde gelijk aan de , maar bij polyploïde levensvormen verwijst de term ook naar twee of meer genomen die in één celkern voorkomen.
