- A bee smoker (usually called simply a smoker or a smokepot) is a device used in beekeeping to calm honey bees. It is designed to generate smoke from the smoldering of various fuels, hence the name. It is commonly designed as a stainless steel cylinder with a lid that narrows to a gap with a half inch diameter. The base of the cylinder has another small opening that is adjacent to a bellow nozzle. Pumping of the bellows forces air through the bottom opening. The cylinder also commonly has a wire frame around it acting as a structure the user can grab without risk of burning their hand. Some smokers have a hook on the side allowing the user to hang the whole instrument on the side of a hive for easy access during an inspection or attach it to an ALICE belt when not in use. (en)

- Der Smoker ist ein Imkereigerät, das der Raucherzeugung in der Imkerei dient. Der Rauch stellt die Bienen ruhig und erleichtert dem Imker die Arbeit am Bienenvolk. Der Smoker besteht aus einer zylindrischen Brennkammer mit Tülle und einem Blasebalg, der dazu dient, den Rauch anzutreiben. Die Erfindung des Smokers geht auf den US-Amerikaner (1810 – 1875) zurück.

- L'Affumicatore è un attrezzo utilizzato in apicoltura per tranquillizzare le api durante le fasi di visita delle famiglie. Si tratta di un cilindro di metallo dotato di un soffietto per immettere aria nel cilindro ed un beccuccio per far fuoriuscire fumo. L'apicoltore vi inserisce del materiale combustibile (come ad esempio il tessuto di Juta grezzo, materiale vegetale secco, ecc.), lo accende e lo chiude in modo che la combustione avvenga senza fiamma e produca fumo. - Podkurzacz – w pszczelarstwie przyrząd do odymiania pszczół, złożony z korpusu i mieszka. Podkurzacz stosowany jest do uspokojenia podrażnionych pszczół. W korpusie znajduje się metalowy pojemnik na paliwo (suche , huby rosnące na drzewach liściastych), które po podpaleniu gasi się pozostawiając żar. Pojemnik z paliwem umieszczony jest w dziurkowanej blasze lub siatce chroniąc przed oparzeniem. Górną część podkurzacza stanowi nakrywka w postaci kominka. Metalowy pojemnik posiada otwór naprzeciw wylotu powietrza z mieszka. Strumień powietrza podtrzymuje żarzenie się, wypiera produkty spalania (dym), otworem w kominku kieruje go w żądane przez pszczelarza miejsce. (pl)
- Rökpust är ett redskap som används vid biodling. Med detta redskap blåser ("pustar") biodlaren rök in i bikupan och på bina. Röken gör allmänt att bina blir lugnare och mindre benägna att försvara kolonin. Pusten består av en bälg och ett metallkärl med grov pip. Kärlet är tillverkat av galvaniserad plåt, rostfri plåt eller kopparplåt. I kärlet placeras bränslet som man tänder.
