- La bataille de Chalcis opposa Athènes aux Chalcidiens et leurs alliés, au début de la guerre du Péloponnèse, à l'été 429 av. J.-C. . Les Athéniens, commandés par Xénophon, marchèrent en Thrace afin d'attaquer les cités de Chalcidique. Ils détruisirent les cultures aux alentours de (en) et commencèrent à négocier avec les factions pro-athéniennes de Chalcidique. Les factions anti-athéniennes demandèrent de l'aide à Olynthe. Une armée de Spartolos et Olynthe livra bataille aux Athéniens ; les hoplites Athéniens sont battus par l’infanterie légère de Spartolos assisté par la cavalerie Chalcidienne. Des renforts arrivés d'Olynthe lancèrent une seconde attaque contre les Athéniens qui, pris de panique, furent défaits. Tous leurs généraux ainsi que 430 soldats furent tués. (fr)

- スパルトロスの戦い（英：Battle of Spartolos）はペロポネソス戦争において紀元前429年にアテナイと、およびその同盟からなる連合軍との間に起こった会戦である。 紀元前429年の夏、スパルタ王アルキダモス2世率いるペロポネソス軍がプラタイアへと向った頃、アテナイはクセノポン、ファノマコス他一名の将軍の指揮の下2000人の重装歩兵と200騎の騎兵（ディオドロスによれば総計1000人のみ）をカルキディケとに送った。ボッティケのスパルトロスに来たアテナイ軍は穀物を焼き払い、市内の親アテナイ派と交渉をして開城するかに見えたが、反アテナイ派がに援軍を要請し、やって来たオリュントス軍は市内に入ったため早期開城は成らなかった。オリュントス軍が出撃してくるとアテナイ軍もそれに応じ、スパルトロスの近くで戦闘が起こった。アテナイ軍はカルキディケ重装歩兵を破って市内へと敗走させたが、アテナイの軽装歩兵と騎兵は敵の軽装歩兵と騎兵に敗れた。そして、オリュントスの弓兵が増援に来たのを見たスパルトロスの軽装歩兵は勇気を得てアテナイ軍に追い討ちをかけた。アテナイ軍は輜重隊の近くまで追い詰められたが、そこで反撃を開始した。しかし敵の再反撃に遭って敗走し、ポティダイア市まで逃げ込んだ。この戦いでアテナイ軍は430人と三人の将軍を失った。その後アテナイ軍は休戦条約の下で戦死者の死体を引き取り、帰国した。カルキディケ人とボッティケ人もまた戦死者を収容し、戦勝塚を立てるとそれぞれの市へと解散した。 (ja)
- La battaglia di Calci si svolge nel 429 a.C. fra Atene contro le polis della Calcidica e i loro alleati. Gli ateniesi sotto il comando di Senofonte marciarono verso la Tracia per attaccare . Dopo aver distrutto le coltivazioni fuori città iniziarono a negoziare con la parte pro-Atene, ma la fazione a loro contraria chiese aiuto a Olinto. Un'armata di calcidesi e opliti provenienti da Spartalo incontrò gli ateniesi in battaglia, ma fu sconfitta e si ritirò; la loro cavalleria, invece fu vittoriosa contro le truppe ateniesi. Presto arrivarono dei rinforzi da Olinto, e lanciarono un secondo attacco contro gli ateniesi. Gli ateniesi furono presi dal panico e si ritirarono, subendo poco più di 430 perdite. (it)

- The Battle of Spartolos took place in 429 BC between Athens and the Chalcidian League and their allies, in the early part of the Peloponnesian War. The fall of Potidaea had failed to stop rebellion against Athens in Chalcidice. In an effort to secure sources of imperial revenue and halt further local rebellions the Athenians sent Xenophon with 2,000 hoplites and 200 cavalry to attack Spartolos. They destroyed the crops outside the city and began negotiating with pro-Athenian factions in Chalcidice, but the anti-Athenian factions asked for help from Olynthus. An army from Chalcidice, Spartolos, and Olynthus met the Athenians in battle, but their hoplites were defeated and they retreated to Spartolos.
