| - The Austin Montego is a British family car that was produced by British Leyland from 1984 until 1988, and then by Rover Group from 1988 until 1995. The Montego was the replacement for both the rear-wheel drive Morris Ital and the front-wheel drive Austin Ambassador ranges to give British Leyland an all-new competitor for the Ford Sierra and Vauxhall Cavalier. On its launch, it was sold as both an Austin and an MG. It was the last car to be launched under the Austin marque, and from 1988 it was sold without a marque, following the phasing out of the Austin name. (en)
- Der Austin Montego war ein PKW-Modell des britischen Herstellers BMC. Er wurde von Anfang 1984 bis Ende 1994 produziert. Der Montego basierte auf der Plattform des Ende 1982 vorgestellten Maestro. Er war als viertürige Stufenhecklimousine sowie als fünftüriger Kombi erhältlich. Auffälligstes Merkmal der Limousine war das mit der Heckscheibe zu einer Einheit verbundene dritte Seitenfenster. Der Kombi konnte auch als Siebensitzer bestellt werden und wurde zeitweise unter dem Namen Rover Montego Estate vertrieben. Nach mehreren Überarbeitungen wurde die Produktion (wie die des Maestro) Ende 1994 eingestellt. (de)

Następca modelu Maxi. Do napędu użyto silników R4 o pojemnościach: 1,3; 1,6 lub 2,0 litra. Moc przenoszona była na oś przednią poprzez 4- lub 5-biegową manualną skrzynię biegów. - De Austin Montego was een automodel van de Britse fabrikant Austin Rover. De Montego werd van begin 1984 tot eind 1994 geproduceerd. De Montego was gebaseerd op het platform van de eind 1982 geïntroduceerde Austin Maestro en was beschikbaar als vierdeurs sedan en als vijfdeurs stationwagen (Estate). Het meest opvallende kenmerk van de sedan was het met de achterruit verbonden derde zijraam. De Estate kon ook als een zevenzitter worden besteld en werd later verkocht onder de naam Rover Estate. Na verschillende wijzigingen werd de productie (net als die van de Maestro) eind 1994 stopgezet. (nl)
