Arthur Lismer, CC RCA LL. D. (27 June 1885 – 23 March 1969) was an English-Canadian painter, member of the Group of Seven and educator. He is known primarily as a landscape painter and for his paintings of ships in dazzle camouflage.

(pt) Arthur Lismer est un peintre et enseignant né à Sheffield, en Angleterre le 27 juin 1885 et mort à Montréal le 23 mars 1969. Lismer fit ses études au et à l'Académie royale des beaux-arts d'Anvers. Puis, il immigra au Canada en 1911. Il commença sa carrière comme professeur au d'Halifax. En 1920, il forme le Groupe des Sept qui réunit plusieurs artistes modernes. Au cours des années 1930, il supervise le service éducatif de l'Art Gallery of Toronto. Pendant cette même période, il enseigna en Afrique. Un peu plus tard, il dirigea le . À partir de 1951, il peindra tous les étés à Vancouver. Ses œuvres sont alors exposées à la Galerie L'Art français. Nel 1911 Lismer si sposta in Canada, a Toronto, dove trova lavoro in una compagnia di design, la Grip Ltd.Nel 1916 Lismer diventa il preside della Victoria School of Art and Design di Halifax. Nel 1917 parte della città rimase distrutta dalla cosiddetta esplosione di Halifax, e Lismer rappresentò i momenti successivi alla catastrofe in una serie di disegni, pubblicati in seguito dal Corriere del Canada.
