- The 2003 Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix was the first round of the 2003 MotoGP Championship. It took place on the weekend of 4–6 April 2003 at Suzuka. The meeting was overshadowed by the death of Daijiro Kato in the MotoGP race, after he crashed at 130R and hit the barrier at high speed in the ensuing Casio Triangle. Since the accident, Suzuka has failed to reappear on the calendar, with the Japanese Grand Prix moving to Twin Ring Motegi, the previous home of the Pacific Grand Prix. (en)

- De Grand Prix-wegrace van Japan 2003 was de eerste race van het wereldkampioenschap wegrace-seizoen 2003. De race werd verreden op 6 april 2003 op het Suzuka International Racing Course nabij Suzuka, Japan. Het evenement werd overschaduwd door het dodelijke ongeluk van Daijiro Kato in de MotoGP-race. In de derde ronde crashte hij met 200 km/h in de bocht 130R en raakte de vangrails in de daaropvolgende Casio Triangle. Hij liep hierbij zware verwondingen op aan zijn hoofd, nek en borst. - 2003年の日本グランプリは、ロードレース世界選手権の2003年シーズン開幕戦として、4月4日から6日まで三重県の鈴鹿サーキットで開催された。この年のレースは加藤大治郎の事故死という悲劇に見舞われた。翌年以降、鈴鹿はグランプリカレンダーから外れ、日本GPはツインリンクもてぎ（この年までパシフィックGPとして開催）でおこなわれるようになった。 (ja)

W klasie MotoGP podczas wyścigu japoński motocyklista Daijirō Katō miał wypadek przy szykanie Casio Triangle, gdzie przy około 200 km/h (125 mph) uderzył w ścianę. Z poważnymi obrażeniami ciała w stanie śpiączki, przewieziono go do szpitala, gdzie zmarł 20 kwietnia. (pl)
