Peter Petroff (Bulgarian: Петър Петров; 21 October 1919 – 27 February 2003) was a Bulgarian American inventor, engineer, NASA scientist, and adventurer. He was involved in the NASA space program. Petroff assisted in the development of one of the earliest computerized pollution monitoring system and telemetry devices for early weather and communications satellites. He helped develop components of one of the world's first digital watches and an early wireless heart monitor. Petroff founded Care Electronics, Inc. which was acquired by Electro-Data, Inc. of Garland, Texas in autumn 1971.

Februar 2003 in Huntsville, Alabama) war ein bulgarisch-US-amerikanischer Ingenieur, Erfinder und Abenteurer.Als Sohn eines bulgarisch-orthodoxen Priesters wuchs Peter Petroff in einfachsten Verhältnissen in dem südbulgarischen Ort Brestovitza auf. Seine Ausbildung an einem Priesterseminar brach er 1939 ab, um in die französische Fremdenlegion einzutreten. Bei der Verteidigung der Maginot-Linie gegen die deutsche Wehrmacht geriet er 1940 in deutsche Kriegsgefangenschaft. Nach seiner Entlassung im März 1941 kehrte er nach Bulgarien zurück und trat als Offizier in die – damals mit dem Deutschen Reich verbündete – bulgarische Armee ein. Estuvo involucrado en el programa espacial de la NASA. Entre sus muchos logros, Petroff ayudó en el desarrollo de uno de los primeros sistemas computarizados de monitoreo de la contaminación y dispositivos de telemetría para satélites de clima y comunicaciones tempranos. Petroff ayudó a desarrollar componentes de uno de los primeros relojes digitales del mundo y uno de los primeros monitores cardíacos inalámbricos, y muchos otros dispositivos y métodos importantes.
