He designed the Krzy\u017C Harcerski (Polish Scouting Cross). Kazimierz was born in 1880 at an estate in Drozdowo northeast of Warsaw to a Polish family of agronomist Franciszek Dionizy Lutos\u0142awski and his second wife Paulina n\u00E9e Szczygielska, highly educated members of the landed gentry. Kazimierz became one of Franciszek's six notable sons. He received doctorate in medicine in Z\u00FCrich, Switzerland. Kazimierz was the fifth son of Franciszek. His older brother Marian Lutos\u0142awski, famous inventor and humanitarian, was murdered by the Bolsheviks near Moscow together with his other brother J\u00F3zef Lutos\u0142awski, the father of composer Witold Lutos\u0142awski. Witold was Kazimierz Lutos\u0142awski's nephew.
