- البرمجيات المحلية المثبتة على جهاز العميل (بالأنجليزية On-premises software) هي برامج يتم تثبيتها وتشغيلها على أجهزة الكمبيوتر في مقر الشخص أو المؤسسة التي تستخدم تلك البرامج، بدلاً من تثبيتها على منشآت بعيدة مثل مزرعة الخوادم أو الحوسبة السحابية. يشار أحيانًا إلى البرامج المحلية على أنها برامج " shrinkwrap "، بينما يطلق على البرامج الخارجية والتي لا تثبت على جهاز العميل عادة «البرمجيات كخدمة» ("SaaS") أو «الحوسبة السحابية». - On-Premises oder On-Prem (in den eigenen Räumlichkeiten, vor Ort oder lokal) bezeichnet ein Nutzungs- und Lizenzmodell für serverbasierte Computerprogramme (Software). Bis ca. 2010 war die lokale Nutzung bzw. die Lizenzierung für die lokale Nutzung von Software der Normalfall und hatte daher keine besondere Bezeichnung. Erst seitdem die lokale Nutzung zunehmend von Software as a Service (SaaS) oder Cloud Computing verdrängt wird, ist der Begriff Off-Premises als Antonym entstanden. Bei kommerzieller On-Prem-Software erwirbt oder mietet der Lizenznehmer Software und betreibt diese in eigener Verantwortung auf eigener Hardware, gegebenenfalls in einem eigenen Rechenzentrum oder auf gemieteten Servern eines fremden Rechenzentrums, in jedem Fall also auf Hardware, die nicht vom Anbieter der Software bereitgestellt wird. Neben den Anschaffungs- und Betriebskosten fallen hierbei üblicherweise zusätzliche Wartungsgebühren an, um den Kunden an der Weiterentwicklung der Software durch deren Anbieter zu beteiligen oder die weitere Unterstützung durch den Hersteller abzusichern. Nutzer von Open-Source-Software können Support bei entsprechenden Dienstleistern aus dem Open-Source-Umfeld einkaufen. Da die Weiterentwicklung und Fehlerbehebung in den Händen der Entwicklergemeinde liegt, entfallen für Open-Source-Software die Wartungsgebühren der Software. - On-premises software (abbreviated to on-prem, and incorrectly referred to as on-premise) is installed and runs on computers on the premises of the person or organization using the software, rather than at a remote facility such as a server farm or cloud. On-premises software is sometimes referred to as "shrinkwrap" software, and off-premises software is commonly called "software as a service" ("SaaS") or "cloud computing". The software consists of database and modules that are combined to particularly serve the unique needs of the large organizations regarding the automation of corporate-wide business system and its functions. - Il software on-premises (letteralmente "software presso la sede"), in contrapposizione al software come servizio (o Saas), si traduce in pratica nell'installazione ed esecuzione del software direttamente su macchina locale, sia essa aziendale che privata, intesa sia come singola postazione di lavoro che come server raggiungibile esclusivamente dall'interno della rete aziendale. "Presso la sede" significa che il sistema informatico è installato/erogato proprio nel luogo (sito, edificio) ove è utilizzato. L'approccio on-premises per la distribuzione/utilizzo del software è stato ritenuto la norma fino al 2005, data oltre la quale si è progressivamente ampliato l'utilizzo di software (o di piattaforme/infrastrutture informatiche) che si esegue su computer remoti. Non entrando nello specifico e con linguaggio popolare, l'alternativa alla logica on premises è l'erogazione in cloud. (it)
