- La International Society for Computational Biology, en català Societat Internacional per la Biologia Computacional , coneguda per les seves sigles en anglès ISCB, és una societat científica formada per investigadors en biologia computacional i bioinformàtica. La societat va ser fundada el 1997 per proporcionar una estabilitat financera a la conferència i posteriorment ha crescut fins esdevenir una societat més gran que treballa per avançar cap a la comprensió de sistemes de vida a través de la computació i per comunicar avenços científics a tot el món. A més de l'ISMB, la societat també organitza un número creixent de conferències menors, i atorga diversos premis científics anuals, incloent el Premi Overton (Overton Prize). - The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) is a scholarly society for researchers in computational biology and bioinformatics. The society was founded in 1997 to provide a stable financial home for the Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB) conference and has grown to become a larger society working towards advancing understanding of living systems through computation and for communicating scientific advances worldwide. In addition to ISMB, the society also organizes a growing number of smaller, more regionally or topically focused conferences and presents a number of annual scientific achievement awards, including the Overton Prize and the ISCB Senior Scientist Awards. - L'International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) est une société savante fondée en 1997 dans le domaine de la bioinformatique qui a pour mission principale de contribuer au développement de la compréhension du vivant en utilisant l'outil informatique. L'ISCB communique sur l'importance de la bioinformatique auprès d'une large communauté scientifique, d'organisations gouvernementale, et auprès du grand public. La société sert ses membres localement, nationalement et internationalement en fournissant des orientations de politiques scientifiques, des publications scientifiques, en organisant des congrès scientifique et en distribuant des informations à travers de multiples plateformes. La société organise la conférence Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB) chaque année. Elle organise également un nombre croissant de congrès régionaux ou spécifique d'une thématique de recherche. Elle possède deux journaux officiels : PLoS Computational Biology et Bioinformatics. (fr)
