- The Fortifications of Brussels (French: Fortifications de Bruxelles, Dutch: Vestingwerken van Brussel) refers to the medieval city walls that surrounded Brussels, Belgium, built primarily to defend the city but also for administrative reasons. There were two stages of fortifications of Brussels; the first walls, built in the early 13th century, and the second walls, built in the late 14th century and later upgraded. Today, only a few sections of either remain. (en)

- De stadsomwallingen van Brussel waren stenen stadswallen rond Brussel. De bouw van de eerste omwalling werd vermoedelijk aangevat in de vroege 13de eeuw tijdens de regeerperiode van Hendrik I van Brabant, Graaf van Leuven en Hertog van Brabant, en nam meerdere decennia in beslag. De tweede wal werd gebouwd in de 14de eeuw, nadat bleek dat de oude wal te klein was geworden om de stad nog voldoende veiligheid te bieden. Het traject van de tweede stadsmuur komt overeen met de huidige Brusselse binnenring, die werd aangelegd na de afbraak van de stadswal. (nl)
