  • The Thirty-Sixth Wisconsin Legislature convened from January 10, 1883, to April 4, 1883, in regular session. This was the first legislative session after the redistricting of the Senate and Assembly according to an act of the previous session. Assembly members and odd-numbered senators were elected in the general election of November 7, 1882. Senators representing even-numbered districts had been elected in the general election of November 8, 1881, and their term was extended from two years to three years, with the end of their term coinciding with the end of this (36th) legislative term.
