| - Μια ολική ηλιακή έκλειψη συνέβη στις 31 Ιουλίου 1981. Η ολική φάση έγινε ορατή σε ηπειρωτικό έδαφος μόνο εντός της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης, σε εδάφη που ανήκουν σήμερα στη Γεωργία, στο Καζακστάν και στη Ρωσία. Το νότιο τμήμα του όρους Ελμπρούς, (το υψηλότερο βουνό της Ευρώπης), βρέθηκε επίσης στο "μονοπάτι" της ολικότητας. Η ολική έκλειψη στη συνέχεια εισήλθε στον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό, όπου ολοκληρώθηκε εκεί κατά το ηλιοβασίλεμα. Η μερική έκλειψη έγινε ορατή στην ανατολική Ευρώπη, στην Ασία, στον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό, στη Βόρεια Αμερική και στην Αρκτική. (el)

La durata della fase massima dell'eclissi è stata di 2 minuti e 2 secondi e l'ombra lunare sulla superficie terrestre raggiunse una larghezza di 108 km. Il punto di massima totalità è avvenuto in Russia non lontano dalla cittadina russa di Zlatoustovsk. In Grecia l'eclissi è stata visibile per poco tempo dalla Tracia all'alba.
