Motronic is the trade name given to a range of digital engine control units developed by Robert Bosch GmbH (commonly known as Bosch) which combined control of fuel injection and ignition in a single unit. By controlling both major systems in a single unit, many aspects of the engine's characteristics (such as power, fuel economy, drivability, and emissions) can be improved.

Der Name leitet sich aus den Worten Motor und Electronic ab. Dies ist auf die Tatsache zurückzuführen, dass mit der Motronic das erste Mal die Daten für die Saugrohreinspritzung und die Zündung in einem Steuergerät zusammengeführt wurden. Das Vorgängersystem L-Jetronic war ein Benzineinspritzsystem mit separater Zündanlage. Mit der Motronic wurde erstmals eine Motorsteuerung mit einem Mikrocontroller in einem Serienfahrzeug integriert. Das erste Fahrzeug mit Motronic war der 1979 präsentierte BMW 732i. Seit 1995 ersetzen zunehmend Systeme mit elektronischem Gaspedal E-Gas (ME-Motronic), bei denen die Gaspedalstellung elektronisch übermittelt wird, die bis dahin üblichen Seilzugsysteme. MED-Motronic (ab 2000) ist der Name einer Steuerung von Direkteinspritzsystemen. Seit 2014 setzt Bosch eine neue Generation der Motronic ein: MDG1. Die neue Motorsteuergerätfamilie unterstützt moderne Kommunikationsstandards wie Ethernet und lässt sich erstmals für Diesel- wie Ottomotoren verwenden. Weitere, aber seltenere Varianten sind
