Grunden Rock (63°24′S 56°58′W / 63.400°S 56.967°W) is a rock 15 metres (50 ft) high, surrounded by a group of smaller rocks, lying close east of Hut Cove along the south side of the entrance to Hope Bay, at the northeast end of the Antarctic Peninsula. It was discovered by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition under Otto Nordenskiöld, 1901–04. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1945 named the entire group of rocks for , a member of the Swedish Expedition who wintered at Hope Bay in 1903, but in 1952 the name was restricted to the largest rock in this group for easier reference to the light beacon established on the main rock by the Argentine government during the previous season.

| - Der Grunden Rock ist ein 15 m hoher Klippenfelsen am nordöstlichen Ende der Antarktischen Halbinsel. Er wird von mehreren kleineren Felsen umgeben und liegt unmittelbar östlich der Hut Cove auf der Südseite der Einfahrt zur Hope Bay. Entdeckt wurde er von Teilnehmern der Schwedischen Antarktisexpedition (1901–1903) unter der Leitung Otto Nordenskjölds. Der Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey benannte die gesamte Felsengruppe als Grunden Rocks. Namensgeber ist Toralf Grunden (1874–unbekannt), ein Mitglied der schwedischen Forschungsreise, der 1903 in der Hope Bay überwinterte. 1952 wurde die Benennung auf den größten dieser Felsen beschränkt, nachdem argentinische Wissenschaftler im Vorjahr auf diesem ein Leuchtfeuer errichtet hatten.
