Později začal hrát na kornet jako člen .Koncem osmdesátých let přešel z kornetu na pozoun. He began his music career at the age of nine as a vocalist and comedian with , a company of entertainers that toured many of the larger cities of the United States. He began playing the cornet, traveling for six years with the . After his touring days, he joined of Concord, New Hampshire. Bagley died in Keene, New Hampshire on January 29, 1922. (en)

Comenzó su carrera a los nueve años como vocalista y comediante en Leavitt's Bellringers, una compañía de cómicos que viajaban por muchas de las principales ciudades de los Estados Unidos.
