Edward John Piszek (pronounced PEE-zeck) (24 October 1916 – 27 March 2004) co-founded the frozen foods brand with John Paul, a bread salesman. Piszek bought out his partner in the 1950s. Among Piszek's philanthropy was acquiring and restoring the Philadelphia house where Tadeusz Kościuszko lived as well as the adjoining property to become the Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial.
