(fr) Edward Leamington Nichols (* 14. September 1854 in Leamington, England; † 10. November 1937 in West Palm Beach, Florida) war ein US-amerikanischer Physiker. Nichols studierte an der Cornell University, sowie an den Universitäten Leipzig, Berlin und Göttingen. An der Universität Göttingen wurde er 1879 promoviert. Anschließend arbeitete er im Labor von Thomas Edison in Menlo Park. 1928 wurde er mit dem Rumford-Preis ausgezeichnet. Nichols estudou na Universidade Cornell e também na Universidade de Leipzig, Universidade de Berlim e Universidade de Göttingen, onde doutorou-se em 1879. Trabalhou no laboratório de Thomas Edison, em Menlo Park. Foi professor de física e química na , em 1881, professor de física e astronomia na Universidade de Kansas, em 1883, e em 1887 professor de física na Universidade Cornell.
