Nama resminya dalam bahasa Inggris adalah Christian Conference of Asia (CCA). CCA didirikan di Parapat, Sumatra Utara, dengan nama East Asia Christian Conference atas inisiatif gereja-gereja, Dewan Gereja-Gereja nasional, dan Dewan Kristen nasional dari berbagai negara dalam pertemuan pertama mereka pada 17-25 Maret 1957.
