Arild Stubhaug (born 25 May 1948) is a Norwegian mathematician, poet and biographer. Stubhaug was born in Naustdal, and is married to Kari Bøge. He made his literary debut in 1970 with the poetry collection Utkantane. He has written biographies of the mathematicians Sophus Lie, Niels Henrik Abel and Gösta Mittag-Leffler. He received the Brage Prize in 1996 for the biography Et foranskutt lyn. Stubhaug studierte Mathematik, Literaturwissenschaft und Religionsgeschichte an der Universität Bergen (Abschluss Cand.Mag.). Er ist bekannt für Biographien von Niels Henrik Abel (an der er seit 1988 arbeitete), Sophus Lie und Gösta Mittag-Leffler (letzteres geschrieben bei einem Aufenthalt am Mittag-Leffler-Institut). 2004 erschien seine Biographie des Dichters (1793–1860). 1970 erschien seine erste Gedichtsammlung Utkantane und er veröffentlichte auch Prosatexte.
