| - Die Rallye Dakar 1997 (Dakar-Agadez-Dakar) war die 19. Ausgabe der Rallye Dakar. Sie begann am 4. Januar 1997 in Dakar und endete am 19. Januar 1997 ebenfalls in Dakar. Die Strecke führte über 8.049 km (davon 6.509 Wertungskilometer) durch Senegal, Mali, Niger und zurück nach Senegal. An der Rallye nahmen insgesamt 280 Teilnehmer – 99 Autos, 126 Motorräder und 55 LKW teil. (de)
- 1997 Dakar Rally also known as the 1997 Paris–Dakar Rally was the 19th running of the Dakar Rally event. The rally started and finished in Dakar, taking in a loop including Niger and the Ténéré desert. Jutta Kleinschmidt became the first woman to win a stage of the Dakar Rally. Japanese driver, Kenjiro Shinozuka, won the car class and Stephane Peterhansel won his fifth motorcycle title. (en)
- El Rally Dakar de 1997, la decimonovena edición de esta carrera rally raid, se realizó del 4 al 19 de enero de ese año. El trayecto total de esta versión, que comenzó y terminó en Dakar, fue de 8049 km y se disputó por rutas de Senegal, Malí, Níger y Mauritania, siendo la primera vez que no se disputó la competición en Europa. Los vencedores fueron el francés Stéphane Peterhansel en motos, el japonés Kenjiro Shinozuka en coches y el austriaco en camiones. Participaron en total 99 coches, 126 motocicletas y 55 camiones, de los cuales llegaron a la final 61, 58 y 22, respectivamente. (es)

Jutta Kleinschmidt est devenue la première femme à remporter une étape du rallye Dakar. - Rajd Dakar 1997 (Rajd Paryż - Dakar 1997) - dziewiętnasta edycja terenowego Rajdu Dakar, która odbyła się na trasie Dakar - Agadez - Dakar. Trasa rajdu liczyła 8 049 km, startowało 280 pojazdów. Jutta Kleinschmidt została pierwszą kobietą, która została sklasyfikowana na wysokim piątym miejscu. W kategorii samochodów tryumfował Japończyk , zaś w kategorii motocykli - po raz piąty Francuz Stephane Peterhansel. (pl)
