Stravinski tamb\u00E9 va escriure per a diversos tipus de conjunts en un ampli espectre de formes cl\u00E0ssiques, des d'\u00F2pera i simfonia a petites peces per a piano i obres per a grups de jazz. Stravinski tamb\u00E9 va aconseguir fama com a pianista i director d'orquestra, sovint de les seues pr\u00F2pies composicions. Va ser tamb\u00E9 escriptor; amb l'ajuda d' va compilar un treball te\u00F2ric titulat Po\u00E8tica musical, on va deixar la famosa frase: \"La m\u00FAsica \u00E9s incapa\u00E7 d'expressar res per si mateixa\". Robert Craft va tenir diverses entrevistes amb el compositor, les quals van ser publicades com Conversations with Stravinsky (Converses amb Stravinski).
