The Anti-Rent party during the Anti-Rent War was also known by this name during the 1840s and 1850s. Another party by this name ran Victoria Woodhull for President of the United States and Frederick Douglass for Vice President of the United States in the 1872 presidential election. Love (and replacing him, ) for vice president respectively. Emma Beckwith ran for mayor of Brooklyn under this same party. In 2021, a fifth Equal Rights Party was formed.
