- Zarafa war eine Groupware-Server-Software für Linux, ähnlich wie Microsoft Exchange Server. Seit 1. Mai 2017 wird Zarafa nicht mehr unterstützt. Der offizielle Fork Kopano führt Zarafa mit veränderter Funktionalität weiter und wird auf Subscriptionsbasis vertrieben. Zarafa ist in einer funktionell eingeschränkten Version (keine Outlook-Clients, einige Enterprise-Merkmale fehlen) als freie Software unter den Bedingungen von Version 3 der GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL) veröffentlicht. Zusätzlich ist eine nicht komplett quelloffene Free Edition erhältlich, die Verbindungen über einen eigenen Outlook-Client („closed source“) für bis zu drei Benutzer ermöglicht. Zarafa ist Mitglied der , unterstützt die OpenMAPI-Initiative und wird im Rahmen der Deutschen Wolke als Software as a Service angeboten. Im Januar 2015 gab Zarafa bekannt, dass der Support für Outlook als nativen MAPI32-Treiber ab April 2016 nicht mehr angeboten wird und an dessen Stelle Microsoft Outlook 2013 (und höher) via ActiveSync angebunden werden kann (wobei aber nicht alle bisher verfügbaren Funktionen zur Verfügung stehen). - Zarafa was an open-source groupware application that originated in the city of Delft in the Netherlands. The company that developed Zarafa, previously known as Connectux, is also called Zarafa. The Zarafa groupware provided email storage on the server side and offered its own Ajax-based mail client called WebAccess and a HTML5-based, WebApp. Advanced features were available in commercially supported versions ("Small Business", "Professional" and "Enterprise" (different feature levels)). Zarafa has been superseded by Kopano. Zarafa was originally designed to integrate with Microsoft Office Outlook and was intended as an alternative to the Microsoft Exchange Server. Connectivity with Microsoft Outlook was provided via a proprietary client-side plugin. Support for the plugin has been discontinued after Q1/2016, though Outlook from then on can use its own ActiveSync implementation instead. The WebApp (and WebAccess) has the same "look-and-feel" as the Outlook OWA. The software handles a personal address-book, calendar, notes and tasks, "Public Folders", a shared calendar (inviting internal and external users, resource management), exchange of files, and video chat. The open source edition does not support any MAPI-based Outlook users, while the community edition supports three Outlook users. All server-side components and the WebApp/WebAccess of Zarafa are published under the Affero General Public License (AGPL), based on the GNU General Public License, version 2 (GPLv2). Introducing and maintaining a dual-licensing strategy, on 18 September 2008 Zarafa released the full core software, that is the server side software stack, under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 (AGPLv3). - Zarafa é um software de colaboração desenvolvido em código aberto na cidade de Delft na Holanda.Ele fornece o armazenamento de e-mail no lado do servidor e traz o seu próprio cliente Web (WebAccess) baseado no Ajax. Todos os componentes do lado do servidor e do WebAccess do Zarafa são publicados sob a licença . Os recursos avançados estão disponíveis nas versões comerciais "Standard", "Profissional" e "Enterprise" (diferentes níveis de recursos). A versão "Community" suporta até três usuários do Outlook. Zarafa é projetado para se integrar com o Microsoft Office Outlook e destina-se como uma alternativa ao Microsoft Exchange Server. O WebAccess tem o mesmo "look and feel" do aplicativo Ms Outlook no desktop. Pessoas habituadas a trabalhar com o Ms Outlook serão capazes de utilizar o WebAccess sem qualquer problema. Podem ser manipulados pelo software, recursos como: catálogo de endereços, calendário, notas e tarefas, pastas públicas e funcionalidades do compartilhamento de calendários (convite a usuários internos e externos com gerenciamento do recurso). A integração com , celulares e Blackberry são outros pontos de a se destacar. Em 18 de setembro de 2008, o servidor Zarafa foi lançado sob a Affero General Public License. A versão open source (versão Community) pode ser baixada em www.zarafa.com/community. A empresa que desenvolve o Zarafa inicialmente chamada de Connectux, hoje leva o nome do seu produto, Zarafa.
