- Προεδρικές και βουλευτικές εκλογές διεξήχθησαν στις 20 Σεπτεμβρίου 2011 στη Ζάμπια. Πρόεδρος εξελέγη ο Μάικλ Σάτα , ο οποίος ανέλαβε καθήκοντα 3 ημέρες μετά. Την ίδια ημέρα εξελέγη και το Κοινοβούλιο.Προεκλογικά σημειώθηκαν επεισόδια βίας. Η διεξαγωγή των εκλογών έτυχε αυστηρής κριτικής από το Ίδρυμα για την Πρόοδο της Δημοκρατίας αναφορικά με την έλλειψη εκλογικών μεταρρυθμίσεων. Οι εκλογικοί παρατηρητές της ΕΕ ανέφεραν ότι οι εκλογές "σε γενικές γραμμές είχαν σωστή διαχείριση" όμως δεν υπήρξε ισομερής πρόσβαση σε πηγές, με τα κρατικά ΜΜΕ να αποτυγχάνουν ακόμα και στις πιο ασήμαντες υποχρεώσεις τους ως μέσα δημόσιας υπηρεσίας. - General elections were held in Zambia on 20 September 2011, electing a President and members of the National Assembly. Michael Sata of the Patriotic Front (PF) won the presidential elections, defeating incumbent Rupiah Banda of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD), and was sworn into office on 23 September. The PF emerged as the largest party in the National Assembly, winning 60 of the 148 seats decided on election day. (en)
