| - Ybbs is a river in Lower Austria, and in Austria also the common short form to designate the little town Ybbs an der Donau. Its source is located on the Zellerrain Pass near Mariazell. The river is called the Weiße Ois in the beginning, from the Lower Austian-Styrian border to Lunz am See it is called the Ois, and from there until it meets the Danube at Ybbs an der Donau, it is called the Ybbs. The Ybbs has a strong, meandering course and flows for around 130 km from the South in a northward direction. Along the river there are many metal and lumber industry plants. The most important towns on the Ybbs are Lunz am See, Göstling an der Ybbs, Hollenstein an der Ybbs, Opponitz, Ybbsitz, Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Amstetten, and Ybbs an der Donau. (en)

- Die Ybbs ist ein rechter Nebenfluss der Donau in Niederösterreich. Die Quelle befindet sich in der Nähe von Mariazell an der niederösterreichisch-steirischen Grenze am Fuße des Großen Zellerhutes. Der Fluss trägt anfangs den Namen Weiße Ois, nach ca. 5 km Fließstrecke heißt er dann Ois und ca. ab Lunz am See bis zur Mündung in die Donau bei Ybbs an der Donau Ybbs. Die Kleine Ybbs entspringt südlich von Ybbsitz, heißt in ihrem Oberlauf (bis Ybbsitz) Schwarze Ois und mündet kurz vor Waidhofen an der Ybbs in die Ybbs. Die Ybbs hat einen stark gewundenen Flussverlauf und fließt auf einer Länge von ca. 130 km von Süden in Richtung Norden durch das Ybbstal. Entlang des Flusses sind hauptsächlich metall- und holzverarbeitende Betriebe angesiedelt. Im Alpenvorland angelangt, ändert sie die Richtung und fließt nordöstlich zur Donau. Die wichtigsten Orte entlang der Ybbs sind Lunz am See, Göstling an der Ybbs, Hollenstein an der Ybbs, Opponitz, Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Sonntagberg, Amstetten und Ybbs an der Donau. (de)
