- Wim T. Schippers né le 1er juillet 1942 à Groningue (Pays-Bas), est un artiste néerlandais lié au courant Fluxus. Il se fait connaître en 1964 lors du Festival-Fluxus de Scheveningen (La Haye). En 1966, il produit avec son ami Wim van der Linden, le court-métrage Tulips, qui fait partie des films tournés à cette époque par des artistes d'avant-garde (cf. Claude Givaudan). Dès lors, il imagine des installations sculpturales décalées, comme une vaste surface rectangulaire en beurre de cacahouète, un clocher d'église à moitié immergé... De 1976 à 1999, il travaille aux côtés de Theo van den Boogaard sur les aventures de Léon la Terreur. En 1986, il présente une pièce de théâtre de 46 minutes, Going to the dogs, dans laquelle il met en scène uniquement six chiens très entraînés et auxquels il prête sa voix. Il est aussi très connu du jeune public néerlandais pour doubler certains personnages de 1, rue Sésame. (fr)

During the 1960s, he worked mostly as a visual artist, associated with the international Fluxus-movement. As a television writer, director, and actor he is responsible for some of the most notable and controversial shows on Dutch televisions from the 1960s to the 1990s, creating a number of lasting characters and enriching the language with terms and expressions first coined in his shows. In addition, he voiced the characters of Ernie and Kermit the Frog on Sesamstraat, the Dutch version of Sesame Street. For his shows, he has written over three hundred songs, and his reputation has changed from being Dutch television's "enfant terrible" to an acknowledged master in a variety of genres. (en)

Zijn beeldende kunst heeft verwantschap met Fluxus, popart en conceptuele kunst. Als theatermaker maakt hij gebruik van humor en absurditeit. Als schrijver creëert hij vaak nieuwe woorden. Veel televisiekijkers kennen hem van de controversiële uitzendingen die hij tijdens de jaren 60 en 70 maakte, zoals Hoepla en De Fred Haché Show met de bekende personages als Fred Haché, Barend Servet en Sjef van Oekel. Voor de radio maakte hij het Radio 3-programma Ronflonflon avec Jacques Plafond. Voor de jeugd is zijn stem bekend van onder meer De Blauwe Meneer, Ernie, Graaf Tel en Kermit de Kikker in Sesamstraat. (nl)
