- Wicked City (妖獣都市 Yōjū Toshi?) en inglés Supernatural Beast City, es una película de anime de terror de estilo neo-noir de 1987 producida por Video Art, Madhouse para Japan Home Video. Basado en la serie de seis novelas del mismo nombre por . La película fue encargada bajo la dirección de Yoshiaki Kawajiri, quien también se desempeñó como guionista (atribuido al seudónimo como Kisei Choo), diseñador de personajes, artista de guiones gráficos, director de animación y animador clave. La historia tiene lugar hacia el final del siglo XX y explora la idea de que el mundo humano coexiste en secreto con el mundo de los Demonios con una fuerza policial secreta conocida como The Black Guard, que protege el límite. En España fue lanzada en VHS por Manga Films y estrenada en los cines en 1995 y fue emitida en Buzz. También se ha doblado en catalán y fue emitida en Canal 33. (es)

Il est adapté de la série de romans du même nom écrite par Hideyuki Kikuchi, et publiée en 1985. Une première version française, intitulée La Cité interdite est éditée par Dagobert Vidéo, filiale d'AB Groupe, en 1991, avant d'être remplacée par une nouvelle version produite par Manga Entertainment en juillet 1995, sous son nom actuel. Dybex finira par obtenir la licence DVD, mais ne sortira le film qu'en version originale sous-titrée. (fr)

Il romanzo è anche stato trasposto in un film live action nel 1992 diretto da Tai Kit Mak con la collaborazione alla sceneggiatura e alla produzione di Tsui Hark. (it)

Based on Black Guard, the first novel of the Wicked City series by Hideyuki Kikuchi, the film is the solo directorial debut of Yoshiaki Kawajiri, who also served as the character designer, storyboard artist, animation director and a key animator. The story takes place towards the end of the 20th century and explores the idea that the human world secretly coexists with the demon world with a secret police force known as the Black Guard protecting the boundary.
