- Warren Armstrong Haggott (* 18. Mai 1864 bei Sidney, Ohio; † 29. April 1958 in Denver, Colorado) war ein US-amerikanischer Politiker (Republikanische Partei). Er vertrat den Bundesstaat Colorado im US-Repräsentantenhaus und war dessen Vizegouverneur. Nach dem Besuch der Grundschule in Sidney setzte Warren Haggott seine Ausbildung zunächst am in Ohio fort. 1886 machte er dann seinen Abschluss am in Indiana; im selben Jahr begann er im Dallas County (Texas) als Lehrer zu arbeiten. 1887 zog er ins Gilpin County in Colorado, wo er ebenfalls als Lehrer tätig war. Von 1888 bis 1889 war er Leiter einer Schule in Black Hawk; zwischen 1890 und 1899 übte er das Amt des Schulrats in Idaho Springs aus. Während dieser Zeit schlug Haggott auch eine Laufbahn als Jurist ein. Er studierte die Rechtswissenschaften und wurde 1892 in die Anwaltskammer aufgenommen. Nach dem Ende seiner Amtszeit als Schulrat eröffnete er dann eine Praxis in Idaho Springs. Zwischen 1902 und 1903 übte Warren Haggott das Amt des Vizegouverneurs von Colorado aus; er war damit der Stellvertreter von Gouverneur James Bradley Orman. Im Jahr 1904 stand er dem Parteitag der Republikaner von Colorado als Chairman vor. Schließlich erfolgte 1906 die Wahl ins Repräsentantenhaus in Washington. Haggott verbrachte zwei Jahre im Kongress und musste diesen nach missglückter Wiederwahl am 3. März 1909 wieder verlassen. In der Folge fungierte er von 1921 bis 1922 als Richter für den zweiten Gerichtsdistrikt von Colorado, danach war er zwischen 1925 und 1944 Präsident der Vermillion Oil Company. Born near Sidney, Ohio, Haggott attended the common schools, Sidney Grammar School, and Xenia (Ohio) College.He was graduated from Valparaiso (Indiana) College in 1886.He taught school in Dallas County, Texas, in 1886 and 1887.He moved to Idaho Springs, Colorado, in 1887.He taught school in Russell Gulch, Gilpin County, in 1887 and 1888.He was the school principal in Black Hawk in 1888 and 1889.He was the superintendent of public schools at Idaho Springs, Colorado from 1890 to 1899.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1892 and commenced practice in 1899 at Idaho Springs, Colorado.He served as the 12th Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1902 to 1903.He served as chairman of the Republican State convention in 1904. Haggott was elected as a Republican to the Sixtieth Congress (March 4, 1907 – March 3, 1909).He was an unsuccessful candidate in 1908 for reelection to the Sixty-first Congress.He moved to Denver, Colorado in 1911.He served as judge of the district court of the second judicial district of Colorado in 1921 and 1922.He served as president of Vermillion Oil Co. from 1925 to 1944.He resumed the practice of law until his retirement in 1951.He died in Denver, Colorado, April 29, 1958 and was buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
