Wafaei or Wefayî, (Kurdish: وەفایی; 1844–1902), was a Kurdish poet. His real name was Abdorrahim. He was born in Mahabad in present-day north-western Iran. He finished religious studies in Mahabad and became a cleric, and a teacher in the local school. He moved to Sulaimaniya in 1900 and stayed there for a while. He travelled to Mecca three times, the last one in 1902. He was accompanied by the Kurdish poet Piramerd. During his last pilgrimage, he became ill and died in the region between Iraq and Syria.

Gegen Ende seines Lebens zog er nach Silemani im heutigen Irak. Wefayi ging dreimal zum Haddsch nach Mekka. Auf seiner letzten Pilgerfahrt 1902 wurde er krank und starb unterwegs in der Grenzregion Syrien und Irak. Wefayi folgte in seinen Gedichten den klassischen Reimen und Rhythmen seiner Zeit. Meistens schrieb er in Ghasels und Kassides. Seine Poetik befasste sich oft mit der Natur und der Liebe. In einigen ist auch der Sufismus (islamische Mystik) Gegenstand der Dichtung. Sein großes Verdienst war es aber, dass er die poetische Form des Sorani aus Silemani in die kurdischen Gebiete des Irans einführte.
