- فيليكي جاليش اختصاراً جاليش (باللغة الصربية كتابة كريلية: Велики Галијаш) هي قناة تحولت إلى بحيرة في جزيرة تسمى بالحرب العظمى، داخل مدينة بلغراد عاصمة صربيا. تعد القناة القديمة واحدة من المعالم الطبيعية الرئيسية في الجزيرة . في الوقت الحالي، عٌزلت القناة عن نهر الدانوب وتحولت فعلياً إلى بحيرة، تبلغ مساحتها 0,24 كيلومتراً مربعاً , وأصبحت أهم منطقة طبيعية لإنتاج الطيور والأسماك في الجزيرة، حيث يوجد 196 نوعاً من الطيور و90 نوعاً من الأسماك التي تعيش فيها . إلا انه أثناء سنوات الجفاف، استنزفت البحيرة بالكامل مما تسبب في أضرار للنظام الإيكولوجي المغلق المتمركز حولها . في أغسطس 2007 , بدأ حفر قناة طولها 300 متر تعيد ربط فيليكي جاليش بالدانوب وتمنع الجفاف الموسمي للبحيرة . وبعد إتمامه بدأت الأسماك من نهر سافا تسبح في فيليكي جاليش ويحظر صيد الأسماك في البحيرة كما هو الحال في منطقة النهر على بعد 50 متراً من ساحل الجزيرة . الاحتفال باليوم الدولي لنهر الدانوب في 29 حزيران \ يونيو، تم افتتاح مخيم تعاوني اقتصادي مكون من مساكن ضخمة لطلاب جامعة بلغراد بالقرب من البحيرة في عام 2007 . من المقرر أن يتم إنشاء منطقة مراقبة تصل ارتفاعها إلى 15 متراً إلى الغرب من مدينة فيليكي غاليش، بحيث تتركز شبكة الزائرين بأكملها على النقاط الغير قابلة للغوص حول البحيرة وفي جميع أنحاء الجزيرة لدراسة حياة الطيور . ومن المقرر أيضاً بناء مختبر حيوي . معظم بحيرات صربيا مصطنعة، تم إنشاؤها عن طريق سد العديد من انهار صربيا لغرض الحصول على الطاقة الكهرومائية أو خزانات المياه . البحيرات الطبيعية في سهل بانونيا ضحلة، وتحدث كأذرع نهرية أو مستنقعات، أو بفعل تآكل الآيليان. بعض البحيرات الطبيعية في الجبال هي من اصل جليدي . - Veliki Galijaš or just Galijaš (Serbian Cyrillic: Велики Галијаш) is a canal turned lake on the Great War Island, within the city of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The former canal is one of the major physical features on the island. In time, the canal was cut off from the Danube and effectively turned into a lake, with an area of 0.24 km² and became the major natural bird and fish spawning area on the island, with 196 bird and 90 fish species living in it. However, during the droughty years the lake drained out completely causing damage to the closed eco-system centred on it. In August 2007 the digging began of a 300 m-long canal which would reconnect Veliki Galijaš with the Danube and prevent the seasonal drying of the lake. After it was completed, fish from the Sava began swimming into the Veliki Galijaš. Fishing in the lake is forbidden as in the river zone up to 50m from the island's coastline. Celebrating June 29, the international Day of the Danube, an eco-camp made of pile dwellings for the students of the Belgrade University was opened near the lake in 2007. A 15 m-high lookout is to be erected west of Veliki Galijaš so as the entire network of visitor centres on the unsinkable points around the lake and throughout the island for the studying of the bird life.
