- L’université de Dschang (en anglais : University of Dschang) est une institution publique dont l’essentiel des infrastructures est localisé dans la ville de Dschang (chef lieu de la Commune), dans le Département de la Menoua, de la Région de l’Ouest Cameroun. Elle fait partie des huit universités d’État que compte aujourd’hui le pays. Bien qu’étant concentrée à Dschang, elle est physiquement présente dans 6 des 10 régions administratives du pays (Centre, Est, Extrême-Nord, Nord-Ouest, Ouest, Sud) à travers des établissements et des antennes. Cette implantation territoriale fait de l'université de Dschang la plus nationale des universités au Cameroun. Bilingue (français/anglais), l’UDs compte environ 32 000 étudiants en 2017, encadrés par près de 471 enseignants-chercheurs et environ 711 personnels non-enseignants. L’institution s’est donnée pour mission d’offrir une formation qui répond aux besoins de développement et de rayonnement du Cameroun tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur du pays. Elle occupe depuis 2015 la tête de classements nationaux et internationaux d’universités au Cameroun et en Afrique centrale (4ICU, , etc.). Sa vision est d’être « une université d’excellence, au service du développement durable, parmi les meilleurs d’Afrique à l’horizon 2025 ». (fr)
- The University of Dschang is located in the town of Dschang, West Cameroon, about 425 kilometers northwest of Yaoundé. It has its roots in three agricultural training schools, and evolved from an agricultural institution to a university in 1993. In 1977, the Government of Cameroon authorized the creation of university centers at locations in Cameroon. The University Center at Dschang (UCD), was created by Presidential Decree No. 77/108 of April 28, 1977. In May 1978, ENSA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique) in Yaounde and the Institute for Agricultural Technologies in Dschang were incorporated into the UCD. ENSA was to be transferred to Dschang as soon as possible. These two institutions were later merged into a single academic entity "The National Institute of Rural Development". In 1979-80, the US government, in exchanges with the Cameroon government, decided to provide assistance to UCD. In 1981, the University of Florida was selected on a competitive basis to design that assistance, through what was named the Agricultural Education Project. In 1993, the UCD was transformed into the University of Dschang. (en)
