- La Resolució 637 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides, adoptada per unanimitat el 27 de juliol de 1989 després de recordar la Resolució 530 (1983) i la Resolució 562 (1985) i nombroses resolucions de l'Assemblea General de les Nacions Unides, el Consell va felicitar el desig de pau a Amèrica Central, observant la Declaració conjunta feta pels presidents de les nacions centreamericanes el 1988 i el 1989. La Resolució 637 va continuar expressant el seu suport a l' i a les declaracions conjuntes, i va demanar als presidents que continuessin els seus esforços per aconseguir una pau ferma i duradora a Amèrica Central. També va fer una crida als països amb vincles i interessos a la regió per recolzar els esforços, inclosos els que donen suport a les forces irregulars i els moviments insurreccionals a la zona, deixen de banda immediatament l'ajuda, a excepció de l'ajuda humanitària. El Consell també va recolzar al Secretari General en els seus esforços i li va demanar que els mantingués informats sobre l'evolució de la situació. (ca)

- United Nations Security Council resolution 637, adopted unanimously on 27 July 1989, after recalling Resolution 530 (1983) and Resolution 562 (1985) and numerous General Assembly resolutions, the council commended the desire for peace in Central America noting the Joint Declaration made by the Presidents of Central American nations in 1988 and 1989. Resolution 637 went on to express its support for the Esquipulas Peace Agreement and the Joint Declarations, calling upon the Presidents to continue their efforts to achieve a firm and lasting peace in Central America. It also appealed to countries with links and interests to the region to support the efforts, including those which support irregular forces and insurrectional movements in the area immediately halt the aid, with the exception of humanitarian aid. The council also supported the Secretary-General in his efforts and requested him to keep them informed on developments in the situation. (en)
- Rezolucja Rady Bezpieczeństwa ONZ nr 637 została przyjęta jednomyślnie 27 lipca 1989 r. Po przywołaniu rezolucji 530 (1983) i 562 (1985) oraz licznych rezolucji Zgromadzenia Ogólnego, Rada wyraziła uznanie dla pragnienia pokoju w Ameryce Środkowej, odnotowując wspólną deklarację pokojową prezydentów państw Ameryki Środkowej. Rada wyraziła również swoje poparcie dla porozumienia pokojowego z Esquipulas i innych wspólnych działań, wzywając prezydentów do kontynuowania wysiłków na rzecz pokoju w Ameryce Środkowej. Zwróciła się również do krajów mających powiązania z tym regionem o wsparcie tych wysiłków i powstrzymywanie się od pomocy dla walczących stron innych niż tylko humanitarna.
