- La Resolució 521 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides, fou aprovada per unanimitat el 19 de setembre de 1982, després de condemnar la massacre de palestins a Beirut, Líban, pel grup de milícies de les , el Consell va reafirmar les resolucions 512 (1982) i 513 (1982), que va exigir el respecte dels drets de la població civil sense cap mena de discriminació i repudia tots els actes de violència contra aquesta població. La resolució va continuar autoritzant al Secretari General de les Nacions Unides a augmentar el nombre d'observadors de les Nacions Unides a Beirut de 10 a 50 i insisteix que no hi haurà interferències amb el desplegament dels observadors i que tindran plena llibertat de moviment. També va demanar al Secretari General que, amb caràcter d'urgència, iniciés consultes adequades i en particular consultes amb el Govern del Líban sobre mesures addicionals que el Consell podria adoptar, inclòs el possible desplegament de les forces de les Nacions Unides, a ajudarà aquest Govern a garantir la plena protecció de la població civil a Beirut i els seus voltants. Finalment, la Resolució 521 va recordar als Estats membres que acceptessin i executessin resolucions del Consell d'acord amb l'article 25 de la Carta de les Nacions Unides i va demanar al Secretari General que informés al Consell en un termini de quaranta-vuit hores sobre els avenços a el regió. Usai mengecam pembantaian orang-orang Palestina di Beirut, Lebanon, oleh kelompok militan , DKPBB mengulang resolusi-resolusi 512 (1982) dan 513 (1982) yang menyerukan penghormatan terhadap hak warga sipil tanpa diskriminasi apapun dan menyayangkan segala tindak kekerasan terhadap orang-orang tersebut. - United Nations Security Council resolution 521, adopted unanimously on 19 September 1982, after condemning the massacre of Palestinians in Beirut, Lebanon, by the Lebanese Forces militia group, the Council reaffirmed resolutions 512 (1982) and 513 (1982) which called for respect for the rights of the civilian population without any discrimination and repudiates all acts of violence against that population. The resolution continued by authorising the Secretary-General to increase the number of United Nations observers in and around Beirut from 10 to 50 and insists that there shall be no interference with the deployment of the observers and that they shall full freedom of movement. It also requested the Secretary-General to, as a matter of urgency, initiate appropriate consultations and in particular consultations with the Government of Lebanon on additional steps which the Council might take, including the possible deployment of United Nations forces, to assist that Government in ensuring full protection for the civilian population in and around Beirut. Finally, Resolution 521 reminded Member States to accept and carry out resolutions by the Council under Article 25 of the Charter of the United Nations and requested the Secretary-General to report to the Council within forty-eight hours on developments in the region.
