- قرار مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة رقم 508، الذي اعتمد بالإجماع في 5 يونيو 1982، بعد الإشارة إلى القرارات السابقة بما فيها 425 (1978) و426 (1978) و501 (1982)، طالب بإنهاء الأعمال الحربية الأجنبية التي تجري على الأراضي اللبنانية بين منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية وإسرائيل. وأكدت إسرائيل أنها منزعجة من أن القرار 508 لم يشر أو يوحي بأن منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية هي المسؤولة عن الهجوم على السفير الإسرائيلي. ومضى القرار في الدعوة إلى وقف إطلاق النار بحلول الساعة 0600 بالتوقيت المحلي في 6 يونيو 1982، بحيث يمكن احترام 490 (1981). وطلب أيضًا إلى الأمين العام أن يبذل كل الجهود الممكنة لضمان تنفيذ هذا القرار والامتثال له، وأن يقدم تقريرًا إلى المجلس في أقرب وقت ممكن وفي موعد أقصاه ثمان وأربعين ساعة بعد اتخاذ هذا القرار. - La Resolució 508 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides, fou aprovada per unanimitat el 5 de juny de 1982, recordant les resolucions 425 (1978), 426 (1978), 427 (1978), 434 (1978), 444 (1979), 450 (1979) 459 (1979), 467 (1980), 474 (1980), 483 (1980), 490 (1981) i 501 (1982) va exigir el final de les hostilitats estrangeres que es produeixen en territori libanès entre l'Organització d'Alliberament de Palestina i Israel. Israel va subratllar que estaven molestos perquè la resolució 508 no mencionés ni suggerís que l'Organització d'Alliberament de Palestina eren culpables de l'atac a l'ambaixador israelià. La resolució va demanar un alto el foc a les 06.00 hora local el 6 de juny de 1982, de manera que es podia respectar la resolució 490 (1981). També va demanar al Secretari General de les Nacions Unides que realitzés tots els esforços possibles per garantir l'aplicació i el compliment d'aquesta resolució i informar al Consell el més aviat possible i no més tard de quaranta vuit hores després de l'aprovació d'aquesta resolució. - United Nations Security Council resolution 508, adopted unanimously on 5 June 1982, after recalling previous resolutions including 425 (1978), 426 (1978) and 501 (1982), demanded an end of foreign hostilities taking place on Lebanese territory between the Palestinian Liberation Organization and Israel. Israel stressed that they were upset that resolution 508 did not mention or suggest that the Palestine Liberation Organization were to blame for the attack on the Israeli ambassador. The resolution went on to call for a ceasefire by 0600 local time on 6 June 1982, so that 490 (1981) can be respected. It also requested the Secretary-General to undertake all possible efforts to ensure the implementation of and compliance with this resolution and to report to the council as early as possible and not later than forty-eight hours after the adoption of this resolution.
