- La Resolució 1485 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides, adoptada per unanimitat el 30 de maig de 2003 després de reafirmar totes les resolucions anteriors del Sàhara Occidental, en particular la Resolució 1429 (2002) el consell va ampliar el mandat de la Missió de Nacions Unides pel Referèndum al Sàhara Occidental (MINURSO) per dos mesos fins al 31 de juliol de 2003. El Consell de Seguretat va ampliar l'operació de la MINURSO per permetre que Marroc i el Front Polisario consideressin les propostes presentades per l'Enviat Personal del Secretari General de les Nacions Unides James Baker III per a una solució política a la disputa i manifestar les seves opinions sobre el . La proposta preveia l'autodeterminació del poble del Sàhara Occidental. A més, el Representant Especial del Secretari General fou encomanat pels seus esforços en resoldre qüestions humanitàries i en l'aplicació de mesures de foment de la confiança proposades per l'Alt Comissionat de les Nacions Unides per als Refugiats. - قرار مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة رقم 1485، المتخذ بالإجماع في 30 مايو 2003، بعد التذكير بجميع القرارات السابقة بشأن الوضع في الصحراء الغربية، ولا سيما القرار 1429 (2002)، مدد المجلس ولاية بعثة الأمم المتحدة للاستفتاء في الصحراء الغربية لمدة شهرين حتى 31 يوليو 2003. مدد مجلس الأمن عملية البعثة للسماح المغرب وجبهة البوليساريو بمزيد من الوقت للنظر في المقترحات التي قدمها المبعوث الشخصي للأمين العام جيمس بيكر للتوصل إلى حل سياسي للنزاع، وتقديم وجهات نظرهم حول خطة بيكر. نص الاقتراح على تقرير المصير لشعب الصحراء الغربية. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، أُثني على الممثل الخاص للأمين العام لما بذله من جهود لحل القضايا الإنسانية ولتنفيذ تدابير بناء الثقة التي اقترحها مفوض الأمم المتحدة السامي لشؤون اللاجئين. - United Nations Security Council resolution 1485, adopted unanimously on 30 May 2003, after recalling all previous resolutions on the situation in Western Sahara, particularly Resolution 1429 (2002), the Council extended the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) for two months until 31 July 2003. The Security Council extended the MINURSO operation to allow Morocco and the Polisario Front further time to consider proposals presented by the Secretary-General's Personal Envoy James Baker III for a political solution to the dispute and provide their views on the Baker Plan. The proposal provided for the self-determination of the people of Western Sahara. In addition, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General was commended for his efforts to resolve humanitarian issues and in the implementation of confidence-building measures proposed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
