- El Tratado de Viena firmado el 1 de diciembre de 1656 fue un pacto de alianza austro-polaco suscrito durante la segunda guerra del Norte. El emperador Habsburgo Fernando III se comprometió a entrar en guerra contra Suecia y aportar al rey polaco Juan II Casimiro Vasa cuatro mil soldados. El tratado dejó insatisfecho a este, que esperaba obtener mayor ayuda de los Habsburgo y fue de difícil aplicación por el fallecimiento tres días después del emperador. L'empereur Ferdinand III de Habsbourg a accepté d'entrer en guerre aux côtés du camp anti-suédois et de soutenir le roi polonais Jean II Casimir avec 4 000 hommes. Le traité était cependant insatisfaisant pour Jean II Casimir, qui aurait espéré une aide plus substantielle ; et d'autant plus inutile que Ferdinand III mourut trois jours après sa signature. Une alliance similaire, mais plus efficace, fut finalement conclue par le successeur de Ferdinand III, Léopold Ier, en vertu du traité de Vienne de 1657. (fr)
- The treaty of Vienna, concluded on 1 December 1656, was an Austro–Polish alliance during the Second Northern War. Habsburg emperor Ferdinand III agreed to enter the war on the anti-Swedish side and support the Polish king John II Casimir with 4,000 troops. The treaty was, however, dissatisfying for John II Casimir, who had hoped for more substantial aid, and further ineffective as Ferdinand III died three days after giving his signature. A similar, but more effective alliance was concluded by Ferdinand III's successor Leopold I in the Treaty of Vienna (1657). (en)
